Meet the Texas Bladder Exstrophy Support Group
In 2015, a small group of three families came together to found the Texas Bladder Exstrophy Group. We are an online support group open to families in the Texas/Oklahoma area that are affected by Bladder Exstrophy. In the past year and a half, we have grown to a group of over 15 families that feel the need to connect locally and know they are not alone on this roller coaster journey.
Because we are a local group, we are able to really focus on that need of connection.
We host Mom’s Night Out quarterly, and we are planning a family event in the near future. Another thing we have been blessed to be able to do is foster friendships in our children and ourselves that are shaping up to be some of the most important relationships in our lives. We have been so fortunate to watch our kids play together, laugh, be silly, compare mitrofanoff’s, talk about shared doctor’s, and come to the realization that they will always have someone to talk to!
Our group hosts an annual BE Extraordinary 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament to raise money for A-BE-C; it is an honor and such a pleasure to be able to help in an area that has so affected each of our families.
Since we began, we have been overwhelmed by the outpouring of support and love that have let our kids raise over $6,000 to help babies born different! We are excited to be able to bring our group together this year to begin to raise money specifically for A-BE-C. As parents, we truly believe in the importance of showing our children that they can be amazing, and they can accomplish amazing things.

Hello!! My family recently located from TN. Our 2 year old daughter was born with bladder extrophy and our new urologist told us about this group!! I was beyond excited as we could not find anything in TN. We relocated to Robinson right outside of Waco.
Please contact me so my family can be a part of this group!!
